Urban Edge Construction & Remodeling was founded on a simple idea: Cedar Rapids homeowners deserve honest, consistent work from someone who actually cares about the outcome. Matt started Urban Edge to be that contractor — the one who shows up, does the work right, and doesn't disappear when something doesn't go perfectly. Not every job goes exactly as planned, but our standard is straightforward: no problem goes unsolved. Every project gets seen through to the finish, and every homeowner leaves satisfied with the investment they made in their home.
Meet Matt
Matt is a lifelong Iowan with 15 years of hands-on remodeling experience across virtually every area of residential construction. He founded Urban Edge Construction & Remodeling because he saw too many homeowners left frustrated by contractors who overpromised and underdelivered. His goal from day one has been to change that — one project at a time, right here in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding communities.
Matt is registered with the State of Iowa and holds working knowledge of Iowa building codes across all of his service areas, ensuring every project is built correctly, safely, and to standard.
His areas of expertise include flooring installation, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, basement finishing, decks and fencing, roofing and siding, and door and window installation. Whatever the project, Matt is on site personally — not managing from a distance.
